The miles of beautiful flat promenade walkways are an absolute pleasure for those wanting to walk, cycle, roller blade or jog in the sun with the beach and Mediterranean sea by their side.
Marbella council recognise the popularity of these walkways and they are part of an ambitious program to extend the beach side walkway (the Senda Litoral) all the way from Nerja in the east of the Costa del Sol through to Estepona in the west. Beautiful board walks and new bridges are being installed in many areas to join up this route.
Marbella’s beach walks are also enhanced by numerous great chringuitos (restaurants on the beach) serving great seafood and local delicacies. Not forgetting of course the all-important cold drinks in this climate! Places like the Trocadero, Sea Grill (within the 5* Puente Romano Hotel) and the chilled out Victors Beach are all local favourites on sunny days all year round.
For those who have maybe spent a little too long in the chiringuitos there are regular beach gyms along the route where you can use the beach side exercise equipment to tone up before the next stop!
In the summer months the Mediterranean is an epic facility to have on your doorstep. Offering so many great ways to enjoy the Marbella high life. Choose between getting laid back and comfortable on a luxurious sunbed on the beach by a bar, or get out there on the Med and enjoy activities like sunset champagne cruises, dolphin watching, scuba diving, kitesurfing, stand up paddleboarding, jet skiing, water skiing, swimming and sailing.
A superb year round activity for those wanting to experience the Marbella promenade is to stroll from the centre of Old Town Marbella all the way along the sea front to Puerto Banus (or visa versa) before taking the regular ferry service for the return route.
