Meet Maribel – the new ski and après ski hotel for hedonists
There’s a new destination hotel on the snowy slopes of Sierra Nevada ski resort. Called Maribel, it’s managed by Puente Romano Beach Resort and Marbella Club, and is the kid sister to the luxurious El Lodge Ski & Spa.
This new ski destination hotel opened for guest bookings on 27th December 2022, and it appears that it is setting out to satisfy the tastes of the swathe of younger entrepreneurs moving to the Costa del Sol in search of a more relaxed lifestyle. Where else could you live and be on a sunny beach in the morning, and then drive for a couple of hours to a snow-filled ski resort? There aren’t many places that can make that boast.
Positioned as Sierra Nevada’s decadent ski and après ski destination, with the perfect mix of sport and revelry. It promises to be a high-octane, ski-in/ski-out hotel for thrill seekers, whether they are skiing or snowboarding on the snowy slopes, or enjoying wild nights of après-ski.
Situated at around 3,000 metres, and with direct access to the Maribel and Aguila slopes, the hotel has 29 rooms and suites, including the Maribel Penthouse Suite, which can definitely be called a room with a view. Indeed, most of the rooms come with balconies and killer mountain views. Plus, there is under-floor heating, rainfall showers and Chromecast Smart TVs. Aching limbs are also catered for in the Spa with its Turkish steam room, sauna, hot tubs and massage service.
Après Ski at Maribel
At the heart of Maribel there is an elliptical staircase that sweeps down to the open-plan library, lounge, and bar, which is where the evening begins, possibly with a game of pool and a knockout cocktail before heading to Maribel’s mountain view restaurant, with its distinctive snake-shaped seating and hanging fireplaces that frame the panoramic views to the Maribel piste. There’s always live music throughout the evening, and late nights of live DJ sets and dancing for the serious party people.
